Hey All!

Just a heads up...I'm pretty sure most of you are fairly aware of the whole SOPA-PIPPA mess going on in Congress and floating around the interwebs.
If you're not (have you been living under a rock for the last six months by any chance? No seriously, I'd like to know what that's like for someone living in the 21st century...it seems like a damn near impossible accomplishement...), then check out some of the journals posted up on the DA Journal Portal Page or consult some of these useful links for more info:
Stop American Censorship (Official Anti-SOPA Website)- [link]Helpful FAQ From CNET News- [link]Official Wikipedia Page- [link]Latest DA News Journal On the Subject- [link]Anyway....there's tons more info about the subject floating around the internet. The bottom line is this...if you enjoy your internet light on the governement censorship and heavy on the rich content that it can offer, then SOPA-PIPPA is a HORRIBLE way to go. If you, along with several popular websites like Goggle, Wikipedia, and our very own DeviantArt, are against SOPA-PIPPA, then consider
BLACKING OUT on January 18th.
To make this clear on my end:
"This account will remain silent on #J18 January 18th, 8am-8pm (EST) as a protest against SOPA/PIPA."If you support the Anti-SOPA cause, post this statement and MAKE a statement against internet censorship. Untill then peeps, consider my profile
BLACKED OUT for the duration of the protest.

See ya on the other side!

Hey Guys!
The Big Anti-SOPA BLACKOUT starts in just under a few hours...
I've had some discussions with some other Deviants pertaining to the whole thing....seems people are a bit confused as to what the BLACKOUT is about and what it involves....
Here's Wikipedia with its explanation and more-
[link]I get that in this technology-dependent age we live in, it seems damn near impossible to participate in something so sacrificing...but even doing just a little to support the cause can help. Avoiding websites that are mostly for your entertainment, and only visiting those that you ABSOLUTELY need are a simple way to go. Even making a pledge to avoid using the internet (Like I did above....

) for a few hours can show support...

But, if like several Devaint users out there, you can't seem to move away from the net for whatever reason....here's another way to show some support...
Fellow Deviant

made a completely blacked out avatar in support of the Anti-SOPA movement. If you, along with many others, support the Anti-SOPA/PIPPA movement and want to show it....download this handy avatar and post it proudly as your own for the day.
Here's the link for those interested:
